This guide will walk you through the basic installation and configuration of a Tor non-exit relay. Running a relay helps strengthen the Tor network by making it faster. You should not run a Tor Relay on a server that has important sites or databases on it. By running a relay you are essentially donating bandwidth to the Tor network. It would be wise to keep this in mind and avoid causing yourself potential bandwidth overages. This guide does not cover how to actually connect and use the Tor network as an end-user.
“Tor (originally short for The Onion Router) is free software for enabling online anonymity. Tor directs Internet traffic through a free, worldwide volunteer network consisting of thousands of relays to conceal a user’s location or usage from anyone conducting network surveillance or traffic analysis. Using Tor makes it more difficult to trace Internet activity, including “visits to Web sites, online posts, instant messages and other communication forms”, back to the user and is intended to protect users’ personal privacy, freedom, and ability to conduct confidential business by keeping their internet activities from being monitored.” – “Tor (anonymity network)“. Changing an existing domain name and the associated account on your server is a task that most users don’t think about until it becomes necessary. Thankfully the tools provided by cPanel make this relatively easy.

One of the first problems people encounter when they are new to DNS is where to start looking when they need to make a DNS change. Say you want to add a new subdomain for a piece of server software you are trying out, but where exactly do you add that new A record the instructions keep talking about?

One of the common questions new users have when they get a fully managed dedicated server is “How do I login to my control panel?” This article will show you how to login to your Plesk control panel. cPanel users should check out the article on logging into cPanel here.

While automated backups are important, sometimes you just want to take a quick and dirty snapshot before making a change to your data. When changing files in Linux, you can simply cp a file to another name, and cp it back if your change does not work out. With MySQL, it is not quite that simple, but it is by no means difficult.

Softaculous is an easy to use one click installer, allowing you to install software packages on your Fully Managed Linux server quickly and easily backup and update these installs. While Softaculous is designed with ease of use in mind, it can be confusing to install software with Softaculous. The purpose of this article is to walk through installing a piece of software using Softaculous.

While it is a good and useful thing to have entire server backups, sometimes you only need to restore one or two domains. In these situations, cPanel backups make it easy for one to restore just a single site from the Web Host Manager (WHM) interface, or from the command line.
